What it is

Why unscented is the default recommendation

A litter box only works if the cat wants to use it. Fragrance is added for human noses, and it is one of the two or three most common reasons a cat starts going somewhere else. In an automatic box — where the machine already introduces noise and movement — removing one more objection is cheap insurance.

Same base, same behaviour

The tofu that makes up 80% of the bag clumps at the same speed as the corn version, so an automatic box handles it identically. The choice between the two is about smell and appearance, not mechanics.
